Blast Code 1.6 Released
Torrance, CA - January 2, 2008

Blast Code, Inc. releases Blast Code 'Megaton' and 'Kiloton' Version 1.6. The new version is the result of continued production experience within the film, television and game industries. Most notable are work flow, and performance improvements resulting from heavy use within the Transformers and Monsters vs. Aliens films, and Half Life 2 : Episode 2 video game.

The new version incorporates multiple improvements requested by animators. Recording, playback, and rendering have been greatly simplified. The new version eliminates the need for the playback only plug-in, and automatically defaults to playback mode when no license is present. Deleting the blast code engine to render on large farms is no longer necessary. It incorporates the latest version of the Ageia Novodex rigid body solver which can be accelerated using the PhysX physics processor. Rendering quality has also been improved significantly by deriving vertex normals from the blast control surface.

With the release of BlastCode 1.6 artists can expect a product that has been improved and stress tested by the demands of the multiple industries it serves.
